I would never get another room with the kitchen inside. This was nice to keep the smell of food, oil, and heat out of the room. The other super nice feature was that the kitchen was located on the patio. The bed was a pillow-top king and much more comfortable.

So during the hot months, the bill was almost 3000 baht. This was a HUGE downside because they charged 7 baht a unit, the government rate is 2 or 3. What I didn’t know was that apparently they could set their own electricity rate. This simply means we had access to laundry room, coffee and snack shop, air compressor for bike tires, hose to wash bikes, and that was about it. The 3 month, 6 month lease places call themselves a “full service apartment”. We ended up staying for 6 months because they gave us a better deal but I was still getting ripped off. Having the three month lease also gave us enough time to find a place closer to Payap University where my wife and I were going to start in 2 months’ time. We were now saving money, had a nice pool, access to walk-able food stalls and song-tows (red truck taxi).
